Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Trista Truemper of Bellingham to serve a one-year term as the student trustee at Western Washington University effective July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
Truemper is a graduate student at Western working toward a Master’s in Business Administration. She is also working at the WWU Graduate School to help launch the Graduate Student Advisory Council in the fall. She was recently the Community Outreach and Engagement intern with Western’s Extended Education and also served as a member of the Faculty Senate for Extended Education Committee.
Truemper, who earned her bachelor’s degree from Western in 2015 in sociology, also has significant community networking experience. She is a member of the board of directors of Brigid Collins House and a former member of the Birchwood Christian School Advisory Committee. She is also a former intern for the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center’s adult education program.
